Dear students,
The state-wide semester ticket has been in place since WS 19/20. With the introduction of this semester ticket, the semester fee at the CAU has more than doubled. A sum that not all students can afford.

In order to relieve those who find themselves in existential hardship as a result, the student parliament has passed a hardship regulation, which enables students with a low income, children or other special burdens to be reimbursed the student body contribution (up to € 171).

Before submitting your application, please check whether there are any reasons for a semester ticket reimbursement.
The regulations and requirements for reimbursement can be found in §7 and 8 of the "Contribution statutes of the student body".

This hardship calculator is designed to help you find out without complicated calculations and legal support whether the hardship regulation could apply to you and whether it makes sense to submit an application to the Hardship Commission.

Although we were very careful when creating the calculator, the result of these calculations is not legally binding and can only represent a tendency. If you are in financial need, we always recommend that you go to the social counseling service of the AStA, which will provide you with impartial and confidential support! All information is required on the basis of the contribution statutes. The data entered will only be processed for the individual calculation and will not be saved. At the end of the procedure, the data will be deleted immediately.
Here you can find the application form to submit a hardship application.
